About
Palisade Fire Department
The Palisade Fire Department was established in 1907 as a volunteer organization to serve the Town of Palisade and its surrounding agricultural areas. Today, it functions as a combination all-hazards response agency, handling an average of 1,100 emergency service calls annually. The department achieves this through the commitment of dedicated career, part-time, and volunteer members.
All personnel are trained to respond to a variety of incidents, including structure fires, vehicle fires, wildland fires, rescues (such as mountain, ice, and water rescues), and ambulance transport services.
Additionally, the Palisade Fire Department serves as the emergency response agency for the Palisade Rural Fire Protection District and the surrounding unincorporated areas, covering a total response area of 59 square miles.
